A sweet little knitting pattern to make yourself some cosy mushroom ornaments! Why not hang them on your tree, or string them into bunting for year round cosiness.

You can knit these little mushroom decorations in any weight scrap yarn you have (although I have used 4ply), and stuff them with anything you have to hand – I used spare spinning fibre and wool wadding. To make a bigger mushroom, just increase the number of cast on stitches.

Each mushroom used 4-7g of 4ply yarn, so it’s great for scraps.

You’ll need:

  • Yarn scraps in 2-3 colours (I used 4ply)
  • Wadding or spare fibre to stuff the mushrooms
  • Double-pointed needles that fit your yarn gauge. I used 2.5mm needles
  • Tapestry needle
