This pattern uses front post double crochet and a puff stitch cluster worked into a shifting two color repeat, so comfort with post stitches and tracking a pattern position will help.

Finished Size: Approximately 20 x 13 x 3 cm (7.9 x 5.1 x 1.2 in), fitted for a book measuring approximately 18.1 x 11 x 1.5 cm (7.1 x 4.3 x 0.6 in)

To Customize Size: The corn motif repeats every 5 stitches around the round, so your total stitch count at the end of Round 5 needs to stay a multiple of 5 for the cluster placement to come out even. If you want a wider sleeve for a larger book, add stitches to the straight sides of the base chain in multiples of 5 and keep the fan formulas at the ends the same. For height, each three row corn cob tier measures approximately 1.9 cm at this gauge. Add or remove corn tiers in matching pairs so the pattern repositions evenly on both sides, or finish with a single extra row at the top as shown here for a shorter, partial finishing tier.

Yarn Used: 1.5mm nylon cord, sage green and golden yellow (approximately 175 g (about 440m total including strap)

Gauge: 6.5 corn columns and 16 yellow cluster rows = 10 cm (4 in) over the corn motif, blocked.

Hook Size: 2 mm
