Sometimes you find inspiration in the yarn you already have in stash, and this project is the result of this fortunate inspiration. I have a box with different blowyarn and decided to use the colors that were single skeins in this fun, little project. The neck starts by knitting the front bottom up and you can choose to change color at the top of the shoulder before knitting the back part top down. You can also choose to use a 3rd color on the neckline as I have done, and a 4th color for the icord edge that frames the entire garment. The neck is knitted in stockinette stitch back and forth with shaping for the neckline front and back. The neckline is knitted in single ribbing, and as a final step an icord edge is made as a frame around the garment. It’s made a few increases up the front piece and a few decreases down the back piece to shape it a little. The gauge it is made in allows for many different combinations of thinner yarns, or you can use a blowyarn (Drop Air) as I have done. A garment that will be worn close to the neck should be knitted in a soft yarn that does not itch.
