Cotton yarns are wonderful for creating this adorable little girl’s sunhat. Suggested yarns are Bernat’s Cottontots (for a little fluffy soft texture) or Hobby Lobby’s “I Love This Cotton” (for a very soft and smooth look and feel).

This is a great little project for a knitter with experience knitting in the round. It knits up in no time at all!! Are you just beginning to knit? This hat is very basic - using only a knit stitch and k2tog (knit two stitches together). To add a finished edge, create a round of single crochet around the ruffled brim and the flower. Single crochet is also very basic, and videos may be found on the Internet giving instructions on crochet stitches.
