The Cotton Lattice Hat uses simple stitches to create a latticework pattern that continues into the crown shaping. This project would be suitable for an adventurous beginner who knows how to purl, knit, ssk, and k2tog; as a bonus only one needle size is used for the pattern. Full charts and fully written line-by-line instructions are given. The hat is knit in the round beginning with a simple ribbed brim and then the embossed lattice pattern is created in the hat body with knit and purl stitches. Knit in smooth Sirdar Cotton DK, this hat is cool and suitable for summertime knitting and wearing. This hat is extremely stretchy with a forgiving fit, which will make it suitable for a range of head sizes and a great choice for gifts or maker markets. If you choose to substitute another yarn, look for a yarn with crisp stitch definition so the lattice pattern will be apparent.
