This purse was designed using a non-traditional material--cotton butcher’s twine! It is thick, rustic and surprisingly soft! The recommended needle size is smaller than expected so that the purse is sturdy and will better hold its form. The modified linen stitch is meant to echo the woven wicker purses of yore.

The purse base is knit first. Stitches are then picked up around the edge of the base to knit the body of the bag in the round from the bottom up. After binding off the body of the bag, stitches are picked up along a top edge for the flap. An I-cord strap, snap and decorative button are sewn to the purse.
