I saw the idea for a baby cocoon--what a perfect idea for a newborn. It seems a lot simpler than all that wrapping I did when mine were babies.

This pattern is pretty simple, sort of a really big hat. I started a the bottom with a few inches of i-cord, then increased pretty dramatically until I got to the desired diameter. The i-cord tail is tied in a simple knot, and the top is bound off with applied i-cord.

It took a little more than one skein of the Cottonease, which I chose for its softness and washability.
