Sometimes a scarf is too much or just isn’t enough, and a neck warmer is the perfect alternative (or addition) to ward off winter’s chill. This pattern offers the same Coventry cables and lace design as the scarf in the form of a cowl with matching fingerless mitts. Three design patterns wrapped into one for extra warmth, the cowl can be knitted in various lengths – from small neck warmer to a longer infinity scarf. Choose the wider, bold braided cable or the softer, elongated cable and add the fingerless mitts that showcase the cascading diamond lace for a complete set. The fingerless mitts are ‘one size fits most’ and can also be made as wrist warmers.

The knitting skill level is advanced beginner or intermediate and above. Knowledge of cables, decreases, and yarn over increases is helpful. All pieces are knitted in the round and require the use of circular and double pointed needles. The cowl patterns are both written and charted for easy interpretation; and the fingerless mitt pattern is partially written and charted. Select and print the desired version. These patterns are fun to knit and the pieces make the perfect spring, fall or winter accessories.
