Cow-zy Scrunchie
Mooooo-ve over, plain hair elastics, the Cow-zy Scrunchie is the cutest new addition to my knitted wardrobe! This scrunchie is the perfect way to embrace the cow print trend that I’ve been loving so much (and if you know me, you know that cows are my favorite animal). You can even make one in an afternoon, and then make a whole herd in different colors!
TECHNIQUES
The scrunchie begins with a provisional cast on and is knit in the round with 1 colorwork chart. Kitchener stitch closes the scrunchie around a hair elastic.
SIZING
The scrunchie is written for one size using fingering weight yarn.
MATERIALS
Yarn: approximately 20 grams each of 2 colors of Fingering Weight (4 ply) yarn. Sample is shown in Knit Picks Stroll. A few yards of waste yarn for the provisional cast on.
Needles: 2 sets of size 1 needles (2.25mm), either 9” circular (preferred) or DPNs
Additional Materials: Stitch marker, tapestry needle, crochet hook, ~2” diameter hair elastic
GAUGE
4” x 4” (10cm x 10cm) = 32 sts x 36 rounds (this is flexible – no need to achieve exact gauge!)
