A fun textured cowl with a pod stitch body of “rocks” and a zig zag twisted rib border! A perfect one-skein project, good for solid, semi-solid, or variegated yarns.

Includes instructions for a snug cowl (20 in. circumference) up to a longer cowl that can be wrapped twice.

Fingering/sport weight yarn - 170 m/185 yds - 340 m/370 yds
DK weight yarn - 130 m/142 yds - 260 m/285 yds

Not recommended for yarn that is fuzzy or splits easily.

Tools

  • Use needles (for knitting in the round in your preferred method) larger than the size recommended on the yarn label. With fingering weight yarn I used 4.5 mm/US 7 needles.
  • Stitch marker for beginning of round
  • Tapestry needle for weaving in ends

Fully written pattern.

Intermediate level - Skills needed: knitting in the round, twisted stitches, increases, decreases (all fully explained)

Many thanks to my intrepid and very helpful test knitters!

Cheers!
