Cowldanna is your winter bandanna to keep out the cold! Cozy around the neck but not too tight, with fringe for fun, and the option to add buttons or a leather tab. You can fold over at the neck or just scrunch it! This pattern is easy enough for a beginning knitter with just a little experience.

This pattern is written for 2 gauges, to allow some flexibility in the yarn choice, and still end up with the same size cowl. 2 samples are shown here and in the pattern, one at each gauge.

Sample one: Natural with leather tab, super bulky gauge
Gauge 8 sts/14 rows = 4 inches.
Needle sz 13 US, 16 inch length.
Yarn is Ushya by Mirasol, 1 skein

All of skein is used for cowl with some leftover for fringe. Approx. 18 more yards of various yarns needed to supplement fringe. Yardage will depend on length and amount of fringe.

Sample two: Pumpkin spice color, bulky gauge
Gauge 11 sts/16 rows = 4 inches
Needle sz 10.5 US, 16 inch length.
Yarn is Trust Wool Addicts by Lang Yarns, 2 skeins

2 skeins alone is enough for cowl, and adequate fringe, but you may add other yarns to fringe if desired. About 9 yds of each additional fringe yarn will be needed.
