Cozy Sip Drink Mitt Set
Whether you’re the kind of person that drinks iced coffee no matter the temperature outside or a fan looking to represent your team every week, with your drink in hand, this pattern is for you. Included in this pattern is 1 regular mitten and a modified mitten to be able to hold a cold drink while keeping your hand warm at the same time. The drink mitt will fit most standard cans and bottles, and the pattern fits most people but can easily be modified if a larger or smaller size is needed.
Supplies needed:
● J hook
● K hook
● approximately 100-110g (180-210yds) worsted weight yarn for the pattern as written (more might be needed if making the set for larger hands)
● yarn needle
● stitch markers, if desired
Abbreviations used:
● mr – magic ring (alternatively, a ch2 and join can be used)
● st – stitch(es)
● ch – chain number indicated
● sc – single crochet
● scblo – single crochet, back loop only
● hdc – half double crochet
● hdcdec – half double crochet decrease (half double crochet over 2 sts from previous round)
● hdcinc – half double increase (2 half double crochets in same st)
Gauge/Other important info:
● drink mitt: make sure your circle measures at least 2.5” across after round 3, the rest should work out from there
● mitten: 7hdc x 5 rows with a J hook is 2” square
● skill level: confident beginner/intermediate
● approximate completion time: 2.5-3 hours
● one size fits most for the mitts; drink mitt fits most 12oz cans/bottles
General pattern notes:
This pattern is worked mostly in joined rounds, with the exception of the ribbed portion of the cuffs and when creating the space for the cuff on the drink mitt. Stitch markers can be helpful to mark the 1st stitch of the rounds. Throughout this pattern, the ch1 never counts as a stitch. Please keep an eye out throughout the pattern for modification options if you need to make this set for a larger or smaller hand.
