This chic cowl will fly off your needles! Knitting this DK weight cowl on US 7 needles gives the fabric a beautiful drape. Construction is from the bottom up in soothing garter stitch and stockinette--it might just be your next relaxing project!

There are plenty of options for variety when it comes to stripes and you can even pull out your colored pencils or markers plan it out in the pattern!

  • Needles: US 7 (32” circular needle)

  • Gauge: 21 sts & 31 rows/4” in stockinette stitch on US 7 needles in the round. Not critical, but be mindful that your yarn usage and final dimensions will be different if you gauge varies a lot.

  • Techniques used: knitting and purling in the round, garter stitch, stockinette stitch, changing colors

  • Finished dimensions: Approximately 15” long by 14” wide

  • Yarn: This cowl was originally designed in Blue Sky Fibers Eco-Cashmere (discontinued) but it would be fantastic in any soft DK weight yarn. The cowl required 2-164yd skeins of Main Color (MC) and 3 Contrast Colors (CC). Each Stripe taking 34yds/10g. A total of 4 stripes being about 136yds/40g. When substituting yarns be sure to check gauge and have extra yarn on hand just in case!
