Crack in the Darkness is a huge winged triangular shawl worked in garter stitch lace. It also features a row of diamond shapes with a leaf pattern inside each shape worked in a combinations of cables, lace and bobbles. The pattern is chart based, but in the English version has written versions of the charted patterns. Finnish pattern is only charted.

Size:
One size, large.
Wingspan: 89 ” / 227 cm, depth in the middle: 33.5 ” /85 cm.

Yarn:
Holst Garn Supersoft, (50 % merino wool, 50 % shetland wool, 287 m / 50 g) or other light fingering weight yarn.

Shown in Dark Olive.

5 cakes. You’ll use almost all the yarn, so to be safe you may want a 6th cake.

Meterage:
1565 yards / 1430 meters.

Needles:
3,25 mm (US 3) - 40” / 100 cm circular needle. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the right gauge.

Gauge:
22 sts x 38 rows = 4 x 4” / 10 x 10 cm in the main lace pattern worked flat (after blocking).
