This cowl is a variation on my popular Crazy Lazy Rib hat patterns. The pattern requires the knitter to be able to do stranded knitting, follow a chart, increase, decrease, and knit in the round. The chart has a 30 stitch by 44 row repeat, which may seem daunting to some, but really, you are just knitting and purling throughout. The pattern is knit to a fine gauge on size 2 needles, and resulted in a cowl that was 27” long by 6” wide. The pictured sample was knit in Three Irish Girl’s Glenhaven Sock, using approximately 100 yards each from a semi-solid (Grand Canal) and a handpaint (Piazza del San Marco). Feel free to substitute any smooth, fingering weight yarn in two co-ordinating or high contrast colors, but be aware that substitute yarns will effect gauge, size, and yardage estimates.
