This pattern uses a recycled cotton from Reunion Yarn Company, knit double-stranded. Use a substitute with the same yardage of another DK yarn (300 yards), or substitute with an Aran or chunky weight (150 yards.)

This pattern is designed to highlight upcycling by using recycled materials for each part of the cargo pouch! The body is knit from Reunion Yarn, which has been sourced from unraveled sweaters that are then plied and re-skeined in new and different color combinations. Combine with leather and fabric scrap for your unique cargo pouch.

From the designer:

One of my favorite shapes for useful bags is the circular pouch, modeled after dry bags or trundle bags. This bag can be opened wide for ease of access, but then pulled tight to ensure that the contents don’t spill out. It’s the perfect size and shape for a bottle of wine, a loaf of bread, some cheese, and a tablecloth for an afternoon al fresco picnic!
