Cremoso is a semicircular asymmetrical shawl, featuring unusual decreases and an irregularly shaped lace edging. It’s a fun knit and, despite the lace being worked on both sides, it’s rather simple and easily memorized. Cremoso means creamy in Italian and indicates how any espresso should be: a creamy shot of instant bliss!

About 72” (183 cm) wide and 35” (89 cm) deep.

Fingering weight (#1 superfine).
Shown here: Hazel Knits Artisan Sock (90% superwash Merino wool, 10% nylon; 400 yd 366 m/4¼ oz 120 g): acorn, 3 skeins.

Size U.S. 4 (3.5 mm).
Size U.S. 6 (4 mm) for bind-off.
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

4 stitch markers (m) of different colors; tapestry needle; blocking pins; flexible blocking wires (optional).

22 sts and 32 rows = 4” (10 cm) in Stockinette st with smaller needles after blocking.

-Take the time to learn how to slip two stitches together purlwise through the back loop (the slipped sts in the wrong-side decrease pcdd); it’s a bit difficult at first, but the final result is worth the effort.
