This pattern is free because I have not had it tech edited or formally. If you notice errors please feel free to let me know on Ravelry and I will update the pattern occasionally. It is also HEAVILY inspired by Sacre Coeur by Nim Teasdale, which is a beautiful lace shawl that I strongly recommend! I wanted a more brainless variant of the same shape – this is fanfic.

This is a nice little crescent-shaped shawlette that I freehanded because I wanted to show off the yarn. It is knit from the top down with increases on all rows, and occasional drop-stitch rows that give texture and floatiness. The slip stitch edges give the top a nice tidy look and better structure, as does the crochet bind-off.

This is more of a recipe than anything, and is very flexible. You can vary the pattern by changing the yarn, changing the frequency of drop stitch rows, or changing the size. A small version makes a nice little head kerchief, a medium version makes a cute dainty shawlette, and the large / full version (just knit til you run out of yarn!) makes a lovely shawl.
