This pattern uses the entire 3.5 oz skein of Vanna’s Choice (170 yds).  I had a long enough tail to seam the hat, and close the crown.  If you’d like to add a pompom, I would suggest a second skein or working fewer rows. 
The hat is worked in rows and seamed.  The HDC3LO is worked on the front (working side) of the hat.
When working the stitches of the first row, work them into the back bump of the foundation chain.
