Thank you for buying the pattern during the Black Girls Code fundraiser!

This three colored cowl was designed as a collaboration between Lady Dye Yarns and Casapinka for a Sherlock kit called “A Study in Pink and Grey” that contained yarn as well as fun (but secret) surprises.

Kits are available
Pink/grey cowl at left: Kit from Lady Dye Yarns

Blue/green cowl at left: Kit was from Gigi Bonin but she sold out. You can find very similar colors here

Adirondack yarns also has kit here.
Marianated Yarns has kits here
Asylum Fibers has kits here

The Criterion Cowl is a nod to a secret message (known as an “Easter Egg”) in the Sherlock episode “A Study in Pink.” You’ll have to figure it out for yourself, though, and no googling or emailing Sharon From Security!

If you’d like to chat with others knitting it, or get color advice, there is a thread in the Casapinka Group here.

The Cowl begins at the top and is 24” - but gradually expands until it is 34” at the base, making it nice and casual but never too tight. You will enjoy the constantly changing stitches and colors. If you can do slipped stitches and a little bit of simple lace, you will be fine.

Materials
Three colors of fingering weight yarn, 200 yards/50g each. These are half skeins and if you have 3 full size skeins you can make 2 cowls and change the color order around!
