Crochet Ariella top
This is a crochet pattern only, not a finished product.
The Ariella top is a cute, whimsical and beachy top and really gives off mermaid vibes! It has great support and is designed to fit all breast sizes. You have the option of lining the top which I’ve included a tutorial for.
About the pattern:
- This pattern is advanced beginner friendly according to my testers but everyone is welcome and the pattern includes a thorough video tutorial of every step.
- No sewing.
- Made-to-measure .
- You’ll decrease to create bra cups and increase to create the peplum (I take you through the process step by step).
- This top works up super fast! I made my top in just 2 days.
Materials:
- yarn: super fine to light weight cotton (weight 1-3) (choose the yarn weight based on your desired thickness). I used sport weight cotton yarn from Søstrene Grene (50 g = 160 m, 4 skeins for a size medium) paired with Rico Design make it blumchen (25 g = 375 m, 2 cones).
- crochet hooks: you’ll need 2 sizes. You’ll use one size for the cups and another one for the peplum.
Main hook: the size listed on your yarn label (if a range of sizes is listed, you can pick according to whether you prefer the stitches more or less closed) (my yarn recommended size 2,5-3 mm and I used size 3 mm). Keep in mind that the stitch pattern is kinda lacey and that’s why I lined the cups with fabric from a stretchy beige top that I thrifted. I’ve also included a video of how I lined the cups.
Secondary one: 3,5 mm larger than your main hook (mine: 6,5 mm).
You may need a larger hook if you’re making tassels. I used size 10 mm to make mine.
- other materials: yarn needle, scissors, stitch markers (optional), measuring tape (optional), seashells (optional), fabric for lining your cups (optional), sewing thread to sew the fabric and to attach seashells (optional).
Skills needed:
- chaining
- slip stitching
- single crochet
- double crochet
Right after purchasing, you will receive a downloadable PDF copy of this pattern and a lookbook.
