This is a headband made up of a few really chunky chains. I made mine using 48 strands of fingering weight cotton yarn with sequins. You can make yours using whatever fiber, weight and number of strands. It’s all up to you but no matter how you make yours, I know it’ll look so cute and unique :D

Here’s what you need to know:

This pattern is beginner-friendly as I’ve included a video of how I make the entire headband.

The headband works up super fast. I made mine in 1 hour-ish.

You don’t need much yarn, so it’s a great scarp-yarn project.

Materials:

Yarn
I used approx. 50 g of 100 % cotton sequin yarn (200 g/600 m, fingering weight). I bought the yarn in a local Danish store, but the brand is called “ZLWXL”. You can use any yarn fiber and weight for this headband. The thicker the yarn is, the fewer strands you’ll need to cut. I cut 48 strands to get the width of 3 cm (1 cm per group of strands - I explain this in the pattern).

Crochet hook
You’ll need one large crochet hook. I used size 12 mm. The size you need depends on how many strands you’re working with and how thick your group of strands is. My group measured approx. 1 cm. You might have to try out a few hook sizes for this. I recommend using the smallest size possible keeping in mind that you need to be able to keep all the strands on the hook.

Other materials

  • Scissors.
  • Measuring tape (optional – not needed).

That’s it! I hope you you’ll download the pattern and love your version as much as I love mine <3
