This is a crochet pattern only, not a finished product.

The Persephone top is a dreamy and cute top that allows you to show off your beautiful curves if you wanna make it skin tight like me. If you prefer making it less tight and chunkier, that’s is just as beautiful (see my beautiful testers’ versions).

You won’t decrease or increase in this pattern but use different hook sizes to tailor the top to your body. There’s almost no sewing in this pattern (you’ll only have to sew the armpits).

I named this pattern Persephone after the queen of the underworld who represents resilience, adaptability and intelligence. I hope you’ll embody these traits as you wear this top!

This pattern is best suited for advanced beginners (though it has a lot of photos and tutorials), but everyone is welcome and I’m happy to help you through every step.

This pattern is made-to-measure meaning that you’ll make the top according to your own measurements. You don’t have to take your measurements or make a gauge swatch beforehand because it works better if you just try on the top as you make it.

I can finish one top in 4-5 days.

This pattern uses US terminology and the metric system.

Materials:

• yarn: merino wool. I do not recommend using cotton or similarly stiff fibers. Since the top is skin tight, you’ll need to use an elastic fiber like merino wool. However, if you want a chunkier look than mine, you can use any weight you want (for reference, I used six skeins of fingering weight merino wool from a Danish store (Uldstedet.dk)).
• 2 or more crochet hook sizes. Your main hook should be 2 mm larger than the one listed on the yarn label, and the secondary one is 0,5 mm smaller than your main hook. You may need more different sizes if you’re curvy in order to tailor the top to your body. I guide your through this in the pattern.
• Scissors
• Stitch markers (6)
• Measuring tape (optional)
