Crochet top
The Lily top is classy and elegant and it looks amazing over a dress shirt.
Right after purchasing, you will receive two downloadable PDFs: the crochet pattern and a lookbook.
This pattern is best suited for advanced beginners because it doesn’t have any photos, but everyone is welcome and I’m happy to help you through every step.
The pattern is made-to-measure meaning that you’ll make the top according to your own measurements. You’ll have to make a gauge swatch and take your measurements beforehand to make sure that the structure of the pattern works. I help you through this in the pattern.
I can finish one top in 2 days.
This pattern uses US terminology and the metric system.
Materials:
- I used I recommend using merino wool to make the top stretchy and “bouncy”. I used 5 skeins of Gepard my wool (merino) for my green top (DK, weight 3 – light, 50 g = 125 m). You can find similar yarn by Drops; merino extra fine (DK/worsted, weight 3 - light, 50 g = 105 m). You can probably use any yarn weight, but I would stick with weights 2-5.
I also used lace weight mohair/silk blend yarn (25 g = 210 m) for the border of the neckline to create some contrast. I got mine from Uldstedet (Danish store).
- 1-2 different crochet hook sizes. 0,5 mm to 1 mm larger than what the yarn label says. I used size 4,5 (Gepard label says 3,5-4). I also recommend using a slightly smaller hook for the decrease/increase stitches (I used size 4) to avoid gapping.
