I just created this pattern to dress up the amigurimi cow that I made with Rose and Lily’s Strawberry cow pattern!
I started it from the hips up and it’s only 10 rounds :)

It is just a simple/plain top, but could easily be decorated with motifs/apllique’s to be customized to your liking.

Materials used: 5mm crochet hook and worsted weight soft acrylic yarn.
Pattern is written using US crochet terminology.
The hips of my cow were 14” but this pattern is easily adjustable for other sizes with using the simple rules for decreasing and it’s worked in alternating sc and hdc rounds.

Abbreviations:
Ch: chain
DCR: decrease (single crochet 2 together)
HDC: half double crochet
HDC-DC: half double crochet decrease ( half double crochet 2 together)
RND: round
SC : single crochet
SLST: slip stich
SK: skip
ST: stitch
(#st): amount of stitches at end of round

Notes: when it’s written 11sc (or whatever number) that means sc in next 11 st’s.

Ch’s at start of round count as 1st st, slst will go to the left of top ch.

On round 10 I worked this round on my cow to make sure the straps would line up where I wanted and my 10sc in that round are for the front of the garment. This round may need to be adjusted depending on the stuffy that the top will be fitting.

To adjust the decrease to the size you need divide your st count by the amount of decreases and minus 2 and that is the number of stitches between decreases.
I did 4 decreases per round that I needed to decrease .
