The impala head is crocheted in rows and rounds, using cotton yarn in two colours to create the checked pattern. Wire shapes the horns that are worked in a shimmering metallic yarn. A brass roman blind ring is covered with crochet and stitched to the top of the base, so the impala head can be hung on display.

The finished impala measures approximately 20cm (7⅞in) from top of the head to the base of the neck, and 19cm (7½in) from the front of the snout to the back of the head.
