Always like how marled garments looked in knitting? Now you can recreate this in crochet with the CrochetMarl Shawl! This pattern is for the intermediate crocheter, or adventurous beginner.
Use 1 solid cake for a small sized shawl, or one and a half skein for an adult version and add all the leftovers and mini skeins you love from your stash!
I’ve created two versions with this pattern, one for a child in cotton, one for an adult in merino wool. You can make this shawl as small or big as you want.

Child version: 1 Hobbii Twister Solid and a Rainbow Organic 8/4 pack excluding the whites.
Size blocked is 48 inch / 122 cm wide and 29.5 inch / 75 cm deep.

Adult version: 1 skein of Atelier Sopra Sock, 1,5 skein of Mr. B Hiddleton Sock, assorted leftovers and mini skeins of fingering weight yarn.
Size blocked is 55 inch / 140 cm wide and 24.5 inch / 62 cm deep.

For the child version I’ve used a 6mm hook, for the adult a 5mm, but as tension is personal i suggest you make a little swatch to see if you like the fabric you’re creating. If it’s too floppy, go down a size, if its too stiff, go up a size.

Please add the #crochetmarlshawl on your pics on Instagram, I would love to see your version!
