These mitts work up fast and the stretchiness of the back-loop-only stitches creates a mitt that is both comfortable and form-fitting. If you’ve never done the crocodile stitch before, a photo-tutorial is included at the end of the pattern. It will take a little practice, but once you’ve got the hang of it you’ll be looking for ways to add the crocodile stitch to all sorts of crochet projects!

Finished product dimensions (measured flat): 8” long, 3.25” wide at wrist, 4” wide across palm and base of thumb, 3.5” wide across base of fingers.

Size: These mitts are designed to fit an average size adult woman’s hands. If you have larger hands, stitch a gauge swatch to find the correct hook size to match the gauge listed, then go up a hook size (or 2) from there, depending on the size of your hands.

Yarn shown: Patons Canadiana New, Deep Orchid, 100g, 205 yds, 1 ball
