Croot
This is the eighth square released for the In Mawwi blanket, this pattern was originally released as a graph on an ELCG (East London Crochet Group) worksheet in October 2023, I have now added the written instructions and added the photo of the reverse of the square as well as the front.
This square is worked in Interlocking/double filet crochet from the bottom up.
Double Filet crochet is very similar to interlocking crochet where you work two filet nets interwoven, and this square is a great example of this with the centre section of the square front and back being clearly separate.
I love the back of this one almost as much as I like the front, I think this would be a great single square to make multiples of to create a blanket. You do have to concentrate if you are using the written pattern as some of the lines of pattern are quite long, I recommend marking the pattern n some way to keep track of where you are.
There are no instructions for joining the squares, every one has their own preferences but I use the standard front lacing method that the ELCG use.
