Inspired by a layered dress from Anthropologie, I set out to make my own cropped tank top to wear over summer dresses. I wasn’t sure if I was a “crop top type” of person, hence the “Experiment” of the name!

Worked from the bottom up in two pieces, the length is very adjustable for different dresses and torso sizes. Because this was designed for me, only one bust size is available, but adventurous knitters should be able to adapt the stitch pattern and sizing accordingly.

Materials: I used just under 4 skeins of Lion Organic Cotton, which is a discontinued yarn. For substitutions, I would recommend a worsted or aran weight cotton or cotton blend yarn.

Gauge: Row gauge is less essential in this project. You will be knitting to a specific measurement in inches for the body and most of the armholes.
