The Cropped summer top is a fitted top with a simple cut. The top has a short, fitted style, so it pairs perfectly with summer skirts or high-waisted jeans. Designed to be slightly cropped, but easily customizable to any length. Quick to make, this pattern is perfect for beginners and seasoned knitters.
The Cropped summer top is worked from the top down. First, the front straps are knitted with increases for the neckline. The front parts are joined, and the arm holes are shaped with increases on both sides. Next, the back part is worked in the same way. The front is joined with the back and worked in the round. The body is knitted in stockinette stitch to the desired length. The hem is knitted in 1x1 twisted rib stitch. Finally, stitches are picked up around the neckline and armholes, and edges are knitted in 1x1 twisted rib stitch.

This top is designed to have 5-10 cm (2-4’’) of negative ease for a regular fit. The knitted fabric will stretch out when worn so choose a size that is approx. 5-10 cm/ 2-4” smaller than your bust for a good fit.
