The Cross Crown Slouchy Hat is a beginner-level beanie pattern with a twisted rib brim and stockinette head. The cross-shaped crown is a simple but effective design which allows the crown to sit flat at the back of the head.

You can personalise the look of the hat by choosing to knit it in entirely one colour, or by adding stripes.

This is a good pattern to use up small amounts of yarn. The brim only uses about 20 grams, and the head about 55 grams for a slouchy look.

This pattern works up quickly for a good last minute gift idea.

A less expensive yarn option would be to use 100% merino for the entire hat. It should still be a lovely cosy hat, although the drape will be less supple.
