I love cardigans and pullovers. This design combines the best aspects of both as the front band cross closes the sweater without button holes or buttons and yet is open like a cardigan.

Cardigan is worked as one piece, knit flat, bottom-up, until reaching the armholes. The two fronts are then placed on stitch holders while the back is completed. Then the fronts are worked. Sleeves are knit flat. The front bands are knit separately then sewn to the fronts, crossing over at the start of the neck shaping.

Blue Moon’s Woobu makes for a lovely drape for this sweater, but you can substitute using any DK or light worsted yarn that fits the gauge.

Tech edited and with schematics.
