About 15 years ago I began experimenting with developing my own sweater designs and found I really enjoyed it. It’s fun to work up a pattern for someone else, contemplating their personality and circumstances. After other knitters began asking where I got the pattern, I started writing patterns. My early ones were … well … experimental and early. I now get them ready and send them to a tech editor to make sure I haven’t messed up math or something even more important.
In addition, I volunteer with Project Knitwell, teaching people in stressful situations to knit. It’s all about the therapeutic benefits.
