I have an obsession with sun hats and I always wanted to make one that was opened at the top. I love it especially when my hair is wet from swimming and I want to let it dry! It is crocheted in the round and it is so fast to make! You can use any yarn of your choice that achieves the correct gauge but I personally love the brown version which was made using a tape yarn. For the white version I used Lily Sugar N Cream but I did have to go up 2 hook sizes that is normally recommended for the yarn. There is only 1 size for the hat which fits most adults so please take time to check your gauge.

For the brown hat:
- 1 skein Lion Brand Rewind
Tape Yarn in Willow.
- Size K (6.5 mm) crochet hook.

For the white hat:
- 2 skeins Lily Sugar’ N Cream
in White.
- Size J (6.0 mm) crochet hook
