Cruel Summer is a crescent-shaped shawl with mesh, drop stitch and eyelet sections between sections of garter stitch. No counting is necessary.

Pair one bright skein of fingering weight yarn with one moody mini, a gorgeous gradient, or a skein of one solid color -- the results will be beautiful.

Yarn:
1 skein of Malabrigo Sock / Light of Love / 439 yards, 100 grams
1 skein of Wild Haven Fiber Company Sonder Sock Mini / Threat Level Midnight / 92 yards, 20g

Yardage: 500-550 yards

Measurements:
The final blocked garment measures approximately 90” by 20”.

Gauge: 12 sts and 20 rows over 4” of garter stitch. The shawl should have a good drape. Whatever your gauge, yarn or needles, swatch for a fabric that drapes.

Needles: US 9/5.5mm 32” circular needle.

Skills: Knit, Purl, YO, Kfb, drop stitches, garter tab cast on, stretchy bind off
