this pattern was updated in march 2019 to include a new yarn recommendation and photos. as of this time, 50% of all purchases moving forward are being directed into the crush scholarship established in memory of a talented friend who left this world too soon. you can find out more about the scholarship here.

as a practical femme, i like my outfits to be simultaneously functional and slightly fancy. this hat, which is incredibly similar to those classic punk toques worn by all my darling friends, has a very subtle difference to the 1x1 rib. not much, and nothing that would stop the pure purpose of a hat to keep your noggin warm while on a hike or art gallery crawl. just enough to keep your femme heart happy and your anxious mind relaxed because, yes, this addition to your punk/hipster/queer attire will still fit in at that house concert you might go to on the weekend. plus, you get bonus points for making the thing yourself.
