This simple bag is designed to be slung around your neck, and used to carry small items around the house or hospital when you’re restricted to using crutches.

It is a simple long rectangle, folded in half with the sides sewn together. A long handle is sewn on to the top edge.

Gauge is not important. The main thing is to create a fairly closely knit fabric, so select a needle size that is a little smaller than what’s recommended for your yarn.

Chinese Waves is the stitch pattern used, but you can select any close-knit textured stitch pattern you like, or just stick to garter stitch.

Avoid lacy stitch patterns, as they’ll allow things like your keys, pens, coins, or other small items to fall out. And when you’re on crutches, the last thing you want to have to worry about is retrieving things off the floor!

Additional materials : darning needle.
