Crystal skirt
A stylish crochet skirt, which is fun to make!
SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate
LANGUAGES AVAILABLE: English
FEATURES: Automatic stitch calculator
PATTERN TYPE: Made to measure
The pattern is written in a “measure yourself” style, which means it does not contain any specific stitch counts, gauges, yardages, or sizes. Instead, you will measure on yourself or the one you make it for to get the right fit.
Since it is a made-to-measure pattern, you can choose the yarn you want to work with. Any yarn weight can be used, and you may also decide whether you want to work with one or more strands held together. How much yarn you will need depends on the chosen yarn, the size you make, and how long you want the skirt to be. Below you can see which yarn, and how much, I used to make my skirts.
However, if you make a child size, it will be best to use a lighter yarn weight (if you use thick yarn for a small size, you might not get space for all the cables on the skirt).
To make this skirt, you will need:
Yarn of your choice
A crochet hook that fits the chosen yarn
Stitch markers (You will need quite a few, at least 18)
Elastic cord/band (between 1 - 12 mm wide)
Scissors
Tapestry needle
(Needle and thread)
What I used to make the brown sample (size s):
Yarn: Drops belle
Hook size: 4 mm
Amount of yarn used: Approx. 1080 m / 1180 yds
What I used to make the mustard colored sample (size s):
Yarn: Recycled cotton (We love yarn)
Hook size: 5 mm
Amount of yarn used: Approx. 790 m / 860 yds
What I used to make the black sample (size s):
Yarn: One strand Ren ull (Linde garn) held together with one strand Kidsilk Erle (Dale garn)
Hook size: 7 mm
Amount of yarn: Approx. 750 m / 820 yds per strand
