The Cucumber Cardigan is a witty design featuring playful stitches reminiscent of elongated cucumbers and crisp pickled cucumbers, intended for a lively stripe colorwork. The pattern uses Gepard All Day yarn, which has a firm, bouncy texture that enhances the cardigan’s charm.
The finished garment is intended with zero to slightly negative fit, but you can knit it slightly oversized depending on your style preference.

The construction is top-down, beginning with the back yoke. Then stitches are picked up at the shoulders to create the front yoke. After armhole shaping, you join to knit the body portion as one piece. The cardigan has a generous armhole depth and includes short-rows for a tidy sleeve silhouette. A special technique is used for the sleeve short-rows to incorporate neat striping transitions. The double-knit button band also uses the same stitch pattern as the rest of the cardigan.

The pattern uses fully written-out instructions as well as a charted pattern, depending on your preference. For special techniques, links to video tutorials are listed.
