The photo-rich pattern is free on the website. An optional PDF is available for $1.99-$3.99 (depending on if there’s a sale in effect).

It’s the perfect Teddy with an added flair of a buttoned scarf!

The pattern is very simple, using the following basic crochet techniques/ stitches:

  • magic ring
  • chain
  • single crochet
  • double crochet
  • increase
  • single crochet decrease

So you can easily whip it off your hook in 1 day if you suddenly get invited to a baby shower or something :D

The original pattern calls for sport-weight acrylic, but you can easily replace it with other yarns with different

  • fiber content (but make sure it is soft and washable if you are making it for a baby)
  • and/ or weight. This will simply change the size of the finished toy; you can even play with it a bit and make a whole set of different sizes to create your own bear family! Don’t forget to change the hook size accordingly, and keep in mind that heavier weight will use up more yarn (both in weight AND yardage) and vice-versa.

You will require some additional materials:

  • fiberfill or other kind of stuffing

  • safety eyes/ nose (can be replaced with embroidery)

  • a button for the scarf (optional, you can leave the scarf hanging down, or embellish it with mini-pompoms or tassels)

  • tapestry needle to sew the pieces together
