Start with a light grey and overdye it with a base color. The result will be a beautiful subtle color change. Overdye a medium grey with that same base color and a different tone emerges. Use a darker grey and you add even more depth to that base color. The three shades of grey have a cumulative effect on your original base color.

Take these shaded yarns, add a simple stranded motif that incorporates the beautiful greyed tones, and you get a cowl that is simple enough for beginners with color variations to satisfy sophisticated tastes.

Finished size: circumference – 32 in. ( 81.25 cm), width – 10.5 in. ( 26.5 cm).

Gauge: 4 in. (10 cm) = 28.5 sts and 30 rnds.

Note: Obtaining both stitch and row gauge is ideal; however, if you have to make a choice, try to get row gauge. Stitch gauge can be achieved through blocking if you are not too far off. Also, try using wooden needles which have more grip on the yarn.
