This is a knitting pattern for a fancy cupcake with a luscious swirl of pink frosting on top. Knit one for teatime with a beloved child, or work up an entire set for a baby shower/birthday party! These cupcakes are 100% sugar free, but they make a super sweet and touching gift. Add a loop of string at the top to turn this knitted treat into a cheerful Christmas ornament!

The finished cupcake is lightweight--wonderfully squishy--and yet surprisingly durable! This knitting project is a blast to knit up, and only takes a short while to make. You may choose to bedazzle the top of the cupcake with the beads or “sprinkles” of your choice--or leave it plane and simple for a young child to safely play with. The cupcake “tin” shows off an attractive spiral on the bottom, which is created by a simple series of K2tog decreases. This pattern makes a fun housewarming gift that will be brought out and admired for many years to come. The cupcake can even serve as an adorable pincushion!
