This pattern is available from etsy.com for £4.15.

Knitting pattern for a delicious selection of teatime treats and fancies to cook up with oddments of double knitting yarn. Inside, you’ll find instructions for mouth-watering cupcakes with swirled icing, a strawberry tartlet, a chocolate brownie and carrot cake, all topped off with a cherry, a tiny carrot, a candle and a mini strawberry. Guilt-free cake without the calories!

The patterns are suitable for an intermediate knitter or adventurous beginner because they are worked in a mixture of knit and purl stitches. Pictorial instructions are included for the more difficult techniques, including making the cupcakes’ signature swirl with the “wrap and turn” method. Other stitches included single rib, moss stitch and garter stitch.

The cake sizes below are only a guide. Vary the thickness of yarn and needle size to make bigger or smaller examples.

The illustrated cupcake is 9 cms high and 6.5 cms across the base.

The strawberry tartlet is 5.5 cms high and 6.5 cms across the base.

The Battenberg, chocolate brownie and tray bake patterns are in two sizes for cakes 7 cms square and 2 cms high, or 9 cms square and 4 cms high.
