This shawl features a unique cable stitch that is combined with a traditional Shetland lace faggotting stitch. Combined, they make a striking shawl. It is a fun knit, and goes fairly quickly as it’s knit using heavy fingering weight yarn. For those of you that enjoy knitting cable lace, I think this cable will intrigue you. Even most veteran cable knitters will probably find this particular cable new and different from most that they have knitted.

The stitches are both charted and written out..

Skill level: Intermediate (assuming a working knowledge of cable and lace knitting).

The shawl/stole was expertly test knitted by Mary Jo Colwell (Mjc2826@gmail.com) and is made with The shawl was knit using Mrs. Crosby’s Hat Box in colorway, Greystone, and used approximately 1200 yards of yarn.

There are also instructions contained within the pattern for an optional crocheted edging.
