Knit a curve like a hull, with airy eyelets that form a delicate net.

Can this be made larger? Yes, very easily. The last section can be repeated as many times as you like until it’s the size you prefer.

TWO VERSIONS of this pattern are provided, and either one will result in the same shawl you see here. One uses “kfb” and the other uses “m1L”. Choose whichever appeals to you. The shawl is the same.

This little swirl of a shawl is named for a 10th century boat builder in my novel So Wild A Dream, who weaves nets and thinks of the world in terms of waves. “It surprised him, as it sometimes did – how graceful the world was in its curves and hollows.”
