I am in love! These are so cushy and soft! The yummy, thick garter stitch makes these woolies very bullet-proof. Great for cloth diapers or over disposables.

These longies or shorties are worked in the round from the top, down. That’s right~ garter stitch in the round, but with almost no purling! You only need to purl half of each short row!

Written in 6 sizes~ Newborn, Small, Medium, Large, X-Large, and Toddler. Simple instructions to customize size~ especially helpful for toddlers/XXL.

34-page pattern includes these features:
Worked in garter stitch with almost no purling
Knit in-the-round
Top-down construction
Trim fit in the waist and above hips
2 waistband styles
Very easy short rows~ only wrap the stitch, no unwrapping
Employs short rows throughout entire back of pants
Gusset to give more room in crotch for diaper
No grafting necessary~ choice to graft or not to graft
2 leg widths

It is important to note that working garter stitch in-the-round will naturally leave a line at the point where the round begins. This line looks sort of like a seam. When working garter stitch by alternating knit and purl rounds, the resulting line is a deep, yet clean ridge. While working garter stitch using the No-Purl Method, the resulting line is flat, but looks a little loopy. If you do not like purling, this loopy line is a small price to pay for garter stitch with no purling involved. This is important to keep in mind when deciding which method you prefer to use while knitting this pattern.

Part of pattern was re-worked after testing. Pics from 7/09 projects are before revisions. Line at center back is even less obvious now with new method.
