We know that you’ve always wanted to knit custom Christmas stockings for your fam jam, and this year we want to help make that dream come true! We’ve been teaching peeps to make this custom stocking since 2018, and it’s time to share the love! We’re so excited to finally share the pattern for our Custom Christmas Stocking.

The stocking is worked in a series of colourwork bands, each strip featuring a different repeating motif. You can mix and match the charts as you see fit, and you can personalize it with a bit of planning. We include 8 charts, including a customizable text chart and tutorial.

You can also customize your version even more by incorporating your favourite charts. (Our staff love the Alterknit Stitch Dictionary and The Doodle Knit Directory!)

Yarn Requirements:
MC: 1 skein of Briggs & Little Heritage
Aran Weight, 215 yards/197 meters per 113g skein.
100% Wool

Pro Tip: take a black and white photo of your colour choices to make sure you have good contrast between your main colour and contrast colour.

Suggested Needles:
4mm (US 6) 16” circular needles
4.5mm (US 7) 16” circular needles + DPNs
or size needed to obtain gauge.

Pattern Hack: Using DK weight wool + 3.5mm (US 4) needles makes a super cute pet stocking!

Skills Required:
Basic understanding of stranded colourwork, knitting in the round, and picking up stitches.
