This is a very versatile pattern, based on the old folded paper dolls some of us made as children, with inter-changeable boy and girl designs and a choice of 2 edge stitches. The sample blanket shows 2 versions: the yellow section has alternating boy and girl cut ups with an eyelet edge; the green section shows all boy cut ups with a garter stitch edge.

This pattern includes graphs and stitch counts for both boy and girl designs, both right side up and upside down. Because the designs have the same dimensions (27 stitches / 50 rows), a blanket can be worked as all girls, all boys, alternating girls and boys, or boys on one end and girls on the other. The 6 stitch border can be knit in the eyelet design, garter stitch, or even a moss stitch.

Pattern errors updated 7/11/12: message me if you ordered prior to this and need a fresh copy. I don’t know how to make an errata link.
