Cute As A Button Beret
This is a crochet pattern for a beret shaped like a button. The top of the beret has four holes in it, and has a raised and structured rim around the outer edge to give it the appearance of a button. The beret can be decorated by weaving ribbon or cord through the button holes.
The pattern includes written instructions with images accompanying most steps, as well as a chart in color and a grayscale chart for accessibility and better printing on a black and white printer.
In addition to yarn, this pattern requires a strip of fabric to stuff and support the button rim. I have used wool and linen in the berets I made while developing this pattern, but a sturdy cotton would also be effective. Fabric that matches the color of the rim is recommended as it may show through the crochet.
The pattern includes notes on size adjustments to accommodate different head sizes and sizes of yarn.
This pattern is not currently screen-reader friendly, however the software I used to format it is actively working on supporting screen readers and I intend to update the pattern once that is available for general use.
No AI was used for the design, development, writing, charting, or any other part of this pattern.
